Helping children and families build their best future

About Austin’s Communication Station

Our History

Following her passion as a Speech Language Pathologist, Amy K. Bartelt, MS, CCC-SLP, BCBA established Austin’s Communication Station in 2009.

With over 13 years of experience, Amy has grown Austin’s Communication Station to be an incredible place to help children and their families.  Amy’s passion is to lead a pediatric clinic where children and families are valued as unique people and treatment plans are developed to help them with their individualized needs.   Austin’s Communication Station encourages caregivers to be a part of their child’s treatment and collaborate with therapists to create therapeutic opportunities for their children outside of the therapy sessions.

Innovative Holistic Therapy

Our Services & Facility

Austin’s Communication Station’s amazing and compassionate therapists offer speech, occupational, feeding, social, and executive functioning therapies in a fun and family friendly environment for children birth to 21 years of age.   With multiple therapy services under one roof, the team is able to easily collaborate to ensure the most comprehensive care and best possible outcomes for families. The clinic is over 6000 sq feet of kid-friendly space including therapy gyms, treatment rooms, rock wall, ball pits, swings, monkey bars, trampoline, and more sensory friendly fun!

Expertly Trained

Meet the Staff

All Austin’s Communication Station therapists complete an extensive clinical training program consisting of in-depth learning and continuing education in the areas of social communication strategies, emotional regulation, executive functioning, ADHD, attention, self-regulation, parent coaching, and more. Some of the programs included in this training are continuing education on theory and strategies from Social Thinking® (www.socialthinking.com), Zones of Regulation®, and the works of Sarah Ward, MS, CCC-SLP (Cognitive Connections), Russell Barkley, PhD (russellbarkley.org), Seth Perler and Debbie Reber (TiLT Parenting), among many others.

With the therapists extensive training and mentorship in these areas, they are able to use evidence-based therapeutic techniques to address hidden deficits in children with a variety of diagnoses. An emphasis on continuing education, allows therapists at Austin’s Communication Station to provide innovative, holistic therapy.

Walmarts nationwide are rolling out Sensory Friendly hours from 8-10am nationwide as a permanent policy! During special hours, TVs are changed to a static image, in-store radio is turned off and lighting is lowered. So cool 😍😍!!
